Message from the Pastor:

Welcome to St. Peter's United Methodist Church!

St. Peter's Church is a congregation created and sustained by God's Word, and by God's gifts of Holy Baptism and Holy Communion.  And because of our Word-and-Sacrament life together, St. Peter's Church is very much engaged in this world.

Faithfully living the Christian life is always an adventure.  It involves some surprises, some disappointments, and many challenges.  Following Christ does not come naturally.  Trusting and obeying Christ do not happen easily.  Living with and for Christ requires, for starters, a group that we call "church."

St. Peter's United Methodist Church is a congregation of God's people who know the adventure of living with and for Jesus Christ.  Our foundation is in God's Word and Sacraments.  Our outreach is to the world.  And the adventure involves standing on the foundation and reaching out to the world in the name of Jesus Christ.

Know that you are invited to become a part of this adventurous congregation!

Rev. Paul T. Stallsworth
Pastor

Mission Statement: St. Peter’s United Methodist Church exists to offer the love of God through Jesus Christ by inviting others, with us, to believe in Christ, to grow in Christ, and to serve Christ.

Vision Statement: The vision of St. Peter’s United Methodist Church is to witness to the Kingdom of God by: guiding unbelievers toward Jesus Christ, nurturing believers to grow in grace and to become faithful members of Christ’s Body the Church, and equipping church members to achieve joyful discipleship in our Lord.

We are located on Hodges Street in the Mitchell Village community of Morehead City, NC, near the intersection of Hwy. NC 24 and Hwy. US 70, and behind the State Employees' Credit Union and the Holiday Inn Express.  View Map

St. Peter's roots go back to circa 1897 as a small Methodist Society.  Later, Camp Glenn Methodist Church was formed from that society.  In 1962, Camp Glenn Methodist Church moved to the Mitchell Village area and was renamed St. Peter's Methodist Church.

St. Peter's is a member of the Confessing Movement Within the United Methodist Church.  To learn more about the Confessing Movement, click here.
