Psalm 100: 4 –5
A while ago,
before I started attending church, I had the opportunity to
spend some time with my daughter. Since my wife and son were out
of town, I decided to take her out to dinner. Her favorite place
was not my choice but I went with her wishes. Not only did we
have a good time together, but I came away with a special
blessing as we were about to leave.
At the table
beside us, a family of three, a father mother and daughter, were
about to eat. The little three or four year old girl started
getting a little vocal as she tried to get her parents
attention. She pleaded with them that they needed to ask the
blessing first, to which they folded their hands, bowed their
heads and the little girl spoke to God and asked Him to bless
the food. This little girl’s willingness to ask grace was a true
witness to me.
What a lesson this has become. Like
the Bible says, “Out of the mouths of babes…” No matter our age
or where we are, it is right to give our thanks and praise.
